Talented Matamata apprentice Sam Collett is predicting a bright future ahead for the Zabeel three-year-old gelding, Electrify (ex Pretty Buttons), who scored his first race-day win at today's Racing Rotorua meeting at Tauranga.

Collett, 18, is apprenticed to the trainer of Electrify, Mark Walker. "He's a great boss to work for and I've really enjoyed my time working at Te Akau since I transferred there," she said.

Collett  commented after today's win that Electrify is a long-striding horse with a big future.

"I believe he will develop into a Cups horse in the future," said Collett.

"He has a ton of ability and he won today like a very good horse," she said. "There are plenty more wins in store for him."

Electrify paid $6 to win the 1400m maiden event, the More FM 1400.
