Cambridge Stud Double In Hong Kong

1 Jul 2008

Cambridge Stud-bred horses have completed a winning double in Hong Kong this week.

One Touch has scored a nice victory at Sha Tin racetrack in Hong Kong on Tuesday taking out the HK$590,000 Tai Mong Handicap (1650m).

One Touch is from the Zabeel mare, Showzeel, and was sold from the Cambridge Stud draft at the 2006 New Zealand Bloodstock yearling sales for $250,000 to the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

One Touch, a late November foal, had scored his first win in Hong Kong at the Sha Tin meeting in April.

Then on Thursday night success went the way of
Crusader of Gold (NZ) (Cape Cross x Cladagh by Sir Tristram) who won the feature event, the Class 2 Gloucester Handicap over 1800m.

Crusader of Gold (NZ) flew home late to nab the gallant pacemaker Lu Yue, also a NZ-bred galloper,
by a neck on the line.

The
Cape Cross 5YO has stepped out on 10 occasions for his trainer David Ferraris this season, rewarding owners on four of these occasions for a seasonal stakes earnings figure of HK$2,624,700.

Bred by Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan of Cambridge Stud,
Crusader of Gold (NZ) was purchased at the 2004 Premier Yearling Sale for NZ$180,000.
