New Zealand Oaks runner-up
Can't Keeper Down (Keeper x Ashley Downs) was back into winning form in fine style at Saturday's Rotorua Racing Club meeting at Te Aroha.

The three-year-old filly had scored the first win of her racing career at the Taranaki meeting on November 19 last year.

She has subsequently raced against many of the best three-year-old fillies in the country.

In the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m) at Trentham in March Can't Keeper Down beat all but Jungle Rocket in a tight finish with only a half-head separating the first pair home. She was also runner-up in the Group 3 Eulogy Stakes at Awapuni in December.

Can't Keeper Down won by a neck in Saturday's 1550m event. She is owned by the Kilmore Syndicate and was bred by Little Avondale Stud in partnership with Pip McCarroll.

She is the first foal from the Grosvenor mare, Ashley Downs and hails from one of the hottest families in the New Zealand stud book, the Sellou/Sneetch clan. Another member of this family, Rios (Hussonet-Gussy Godiva) has been a top performer.
