Trainer Brent Stanley is expecting Here To Shock to have no trouble making his way through the grades.

He saddled the Cambridge Stud yearling graduate for the first winning strike of his career at Ladbrokes Park.

The Shocking colt had finished third on debut and defeated seven winners to open his account this afternoon.

“He’s a smart horse and he came on a lot from that last run at Geelong,” Stanley said.

“He took great benefit out of it and I was quietly confident.”

Here To Shock purred along behind the leader and rounded off strongly in the straight.

“I’ll probably put him away now. There’s some decent races for him in the New Year,” Stanley said.

“It’s been a while since I had a decent horse. He’ll obviously get a mile and beyond.”

Here To Shock was sold on behalf of his breeder's The Sunlight Trust to Slade Bloodstock at Karaka for $70,000.

He is a son of the of the winning Lonhro mare Frescoes, a three-quarter sister to the G1 Patinack Classic winner Mental.

The third dam is the G1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Shaybisc and also the family of the two-time Group 1 winner Freemason.
