Double Award For Cambridge Stud

26 Jul 2008

Cambridge Stud owners
Sir Patrick and Justine Lady Hogan were the proud recipients of two goblets in recognition of breeding two Group 1 winners during the 2007/08 season during the annual Waikato Breeders' dinner held at the Kingsgate Hotel, Hamilton, last Friday night.

Sir Patrick said receiving the goblets was always a very special honour to himself and Lady Justine.

The awards came as a result of Cambridge Stud's involvement in breeding
Sarrera and
Maldivian (pictured below) who both won Group 1 races this season.

Sarrera was a dual Group 1 winner in Australia with her fine victories in the Coolmore Classic and Queen Elizabeth Stakes in Sydney.

Maldivian's prized Group 1 triumph came with his fabulous success in the Yalumba Stakes in Melbourne.

There were two Group 1 winners sired by Cambridge Stud stallion Keeper who also provided their Waikato-based breeders with awards. These were Insouciant and Keepa Cruisin who were bred by Pencarrow Stud and The Oaks Stud respectively.
