First Foal for Season

22 Jul 2008

The  early arrival of a foal at Cambridge Stud on Tuesday morning at 7am wasn't totally unexpected says Sir Patrick Hogan.

Nella Dane, owned by a Melbourne based client of Cambridge Stud, produced a healthy filly at 7am.

"The same mare was the first to foal on the stud last year so we were keeping an eye on her," Sir Patrick said.

One Cool Cat
, Nella Dane was due to foal around August 11.

"Even though she's a couple of weeks early, the foal is a healthy normal foal," Sir Patrick said.

Sire,

One Cool Cat
, is fully booked for the 2008 season. The son of Storm Cat has had an outstanding start to his stud career producing four stakeswinners in Europe already with eleven winners in total from just 44 runners.

Nella Dane is by super-sire Danehill out of a Bletchingly mare, Tennessee Morn (AUS).  She has produced two filly foals in the past two years, both by Stravinsky.
