The promising Keeper two-year-old gelding,
Fitness Fanatic, made a big impression with a three-length whitewash of his rivals in a maiden juvenile event at the Newcastle meeting in Sydney on Wednesday.

The Graeme Rogerson-trained runner romped home in the final stages proving far superior to his rivals in the 1200m Terrace 2yo Maiden.

Fitness Fanatic (NZ) is trained in Sydney by Kiwi horseman Graeme Rogerson who holds him in high regard.

Fitness Fanatic was having his second race-day start and recorded the first win of his career.

His dam, Intrim, has produced five individual winners. This family traces back to the top New Zealand-bred gallopers Rosie's Girl, Prince Ruling and Lord Westminster and also the Group 1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas winner Magic Cape.

Keeper has now sired 22 individual winners in Australia and his total number of individual winners stands at 102 which includes 11 individual stakes winners spearheaded by the Group 1 winners Insouciant and Keepa Cruisin.
