The Gerald Ryan-trained Ironstein backed up from his fourth placing in the recent Brisbane Cup to win today’s A$205,000 Tattersall’s Cup-Gr.3 (2200m) at Eagle Farm.
It was Ironstein’s most important success to date, having won last month’s Listed W J McKell Cup (2400m) at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, while last season he was successful in the Listed SCTC Caloundra Cup (2400m).
Bred by John and Julie Singleton’s Strawberry Hill Stud, Ironstein is a A$250,000 graduate of the Gold Coast Magic Million sale.
Ironstein’s has now won seven races from 27 starts and prize money of around A$500,000.
