Happy Valley Hat Trick For Stravinsky

21 Apr 2009

Stravinsky continued a terrific recent run with three of his progeny winning at the Happy Valley race-meeting in Hong Kong on Wednesday night.

Cambridge Stud owner Sir Patrick Hogan expects to hear within the next 7 days whether Stravinsky will be returning to his farm for the 2009 breeding season.

Sir Patrick said yesterday he certainly hoped Stravinsky will be available again to breeders this year at Cambridge Stud.

"I'm getting a lot of inquiry from both sides of the Tasman about Stravinsky," Sir Patrick said.

Stravinsky's winners at the Happy Valley meeting were Our Lucky Baby (ex Meranti), Sun Trooper (ex Exotic Dancer) and Dumbarton Rock (ex Dare To Win).

Our Lucky Baby was bred and sold by Sir Patrick and Lady Justine Hogan of Cambridge Stud and was sold for $120,000 at the 2006 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sales at Karaka. The buyer was the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Sun Tropper was bred by Standard 2080 Ltd and was sold through the Cambridge Stud draft at the 2006 New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Sales for $145,000 to Gary Hennessy.

Dumbarton Rock was bred by Trevor Luke, Chris Waller and Ms L Williams.
