Trained by Archie Alexander, Lamington Drive had demonstrated good form in the lead up to the 1600m contest, placing in all four of his previous starts, but pulled out all the stops to dismiss the maiden tag, stretching out his neck in a wall of four horses on the line for a 0.2 length win.
Lamington Drive is Highly Recommend’s fourth winner in Australia.
