Hume & Ironstein assist Zabeels Dewar Award chase

13 May 2012

Zabeel is now less than $39,000 behind his son, Savabeel, in the chase for his 15th Dewar Award Trophy, a title which recognises the New Zealand-based stallion with the most progeny earnings in both Australia and New Zealand (currency dollar-for-dollar).

Zabeel provided the quinella in Saturday’s Chairman’s Handicap-Gr.3 (2000m) at Doomben in Brisbane with Hume returning to his best form to defeat Ironstein.

Hume (Zabeel ex Lolette, by Arazi) is trained by Brian Smith and has now won 7 races and A$394,175 in prize money.
