SEASONAL STUD POSITIONS


Location: Cambridge Stud, Cambridge
Duration: September 2021 - February 2022

This role involves helping to prepare our yearling draft through to the NZB National Yearling Sale in Karaka at the end of January. Applicants should have previous experience, a sound knowledge of horse husbandry and be capable of conducting general stud duties.

GROUNDS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT


Location: Cambridge Stud, Cambridge
Duration: Full time

We are seeking a skilled person to maintain the grounds of the Stud to a very high standard.

Reporting to the Head Grounds Maintenance Manager, duties will include assisting with:

· mowing and tractor driving using push, ride-on and tractor mounted mowers
· weed eating, backpack blowing, edging, removal of leaves and debris,
· general weed spraying,
· lawn fertilizing,
· irrigation maintenance,
· general farm work.

The skills and knowledge required include:

· a great attitude and work ethic,
· great attention to detail,
· turf experience (desirable, but not essential),
· initiative, positivity and drive to do the best, with willingness to learn new skills,
· a reliable, self-starter who is drug free and takes pride in their work,
· ability to work as an effective team player, whilst able to work independently, to a consistently high standard, safely and efficiently,
· be a good communicator who can follow instructions, requesting clarification on anything not understood,
· be physically fit and have the physical ability to perform the role,
· an understanding of best working practices in a horse dominated environment is of benefit but not essential,
· valid NZ work visa.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week. Some flexibility in hours may be required to meet the demands of the role. There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to undertake professional development and training.

Essential
· Full NZ Drivers License
Desirable
· Experience in the turf or grounds sector
· Grow safe/ approved handlers
· First aid

TRACTOR VACUUM OPERATOR


Location: Cambridge Stud, Cambridge
Duration: Full time beginning August 2021

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable person to operate one of two tractor vacuums.

For this role you will:
· Have proven tractor driving experience
· Be mechanically and practically minded
· Be a reliable, self-starter who takes pride in their work
· Have the ability to work unsupervised
· Be a good communicator
· Have an ability to work in a horse dominated environment
· Show strong Health & Safety behaviour and attitude

The position is 40 hours per week with some flexibility

Essential Training: Full drivers license
