11 Dec 2010

Keeper has sired more individual winners in New Zealand this season than any other stallion.

According to figures provided by Arion Pedigrees (www.arion.co.nz) to 12 December, Keeper had been represented by 28 individual winners in New Zealand, two more than O’Reilly on 26 and five more than Pins on 23.

Keeper is currently third on the New Zealand Stallion Premiership.  Thorn Park, the sire of the $1m NZ 2000 Guineas winner Jimmy Choux, leads while the unavailable Montjeu is in second position.

Keeper sired the first Group One winner of the new domestic season when Keep The Peace took out the Mudgway Partsworld Stakes at Hastings during the Spring.  Yesterday Keeper was represented by Can’t Keeper Down who won the Manawatu Cup Prelude.  Can’t Keeper Down was Group One placed second at three years in the New Zealand Oaks.

Keeper will be represented by 60 yearlings at the upcoming New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sales Series, inclusive of 16 youngsters at the Premier Session.
