Keeper Filly Runner-Up In New Zealand Oaks

Talented
Keeper three-year-old filly,
Can't Keeper Down, has recorded a creditable second placing in the Group 1 New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance New Zealand Oaks (2400m) at Trentham.


Can't Keeper Down (ex Ashley Downs) beat all but Jungle Rocket home in the time-honoured three-year-old fillies' feature contested on Saturday. In fact she was just a long neck in arrears at the finishing post.

The Oaks placing lifted the career stake-earnings of Lisa Latta-trained
Can't Keeper Down to date to $101,225.

It was the second placing at black-type level for
Can't Keeper Down (NZ) who also finished second in the Group 3 Eulogy Stakes (1600m) at Awapuni in December and fifth in the Group 3 Lowland Stakes (2100m) in February.


Keeper (Danehill x Nuriwah) has been represented by 17 individual stakes performers to date. This tally includes 8 individual stakes winners.


Keeper's progeny continue to be very much to the fore in major races this season.
