Super Sire Zabeel provided the quinella in Saturday’s Listed W J McKell Cup (2400m) at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, with the first two home both from Danehill mares.
Ironstein (Zabeel ex Gentle Genius, by Danehill) lead home
Sherpa Tenzing (Zabeel ex Kerkira, by Danehill) in the A$100,000 feature.
Bred by John and Julie Singleton’s Strawberry Hill Stud, Ironstein is a A$250,000 graduate of the Gold Coast Magic Million sale.
It was Ironstein’s sixth win from 25 starts. He had previously won the SCTC Caloundra Cup at Listed Race level.
