Lucky Unicorn's Half-Brother Wins HK Sprint

, Inspiration, a half-brother to promising Cambridge Stud-based sire
Lucky Unicorn, has captured the winning prize in the Group 1 Hong Kong International Sprint at Sha Tin racecourse on Sunday night, scoring by a nose.

This result in the 1200m turf feature has provided another significant boost for the family of Lucky Unicorn.

Inspiration, who is by the Danehill horse Flying Spur, was the third foal of the dual winner La Bamba, who also produced the Listed winners Lucky Unicorn and Provence.

Lucky Unicorn and Provence are by another son of Danehil in Redoute's Choice.

La Bamba (Last Tycoon x Party)  is a half-sister to the Group 1 AJC Galaxy Handicap winner Masked Party and the Group 1 Wellington RC Elders Handicap winner Festal.

Inspiration, trained by former Australian John Moore and superbly ridden by Darren Beadman, has now posted 7 wins and 8 placings from 22 starts in his fine racing career. He narrowly beat home Green Birdie and Australian galloper Apache Cat.

Inspiration covered the distance over a “good” turf course in 1:08.68. The early splits of the race were :23.52 and :45.85 respectively.
