Moody Keen On Zabeel Filly

Leading trainer Peter Moody has the Group One Patinack Farm AJC Oaks at Royal Randwick on the agenda for the unbeaten Zabeel filly Lights of Heaven, after her impressive victory at Betfair Park Hillside last week.

Lights of Heaven has been to the races twice and been successful on both occasions.  She won her debut at Yarra Valley, winning the maiden 1200m by 7 lengths, with another 7.2 lengths back to the third horse.

Sent straight to ‘town’ for her next outing, the three-year-old was again impressive in winning at Sandown.

According to Moody’s website (www.moodyracing.com.au), Lights of Heaven is highly rated by her trainer.

“It’s terrific when you see them sit on the pace in a six-furlong maiden and win by seven (lengths) then come out and put her head on her chest and go back to second last and finish off like that,” Moody was quoted as saying.

The next outing for Lights of Heaven is likely to be the Sportingbet Fillies Classic-Gr.2 (1600m) at Moonee Valley, 04 March.

Lights of Heaven is from the Volksraad mare I’m in Heaven, herself a sister to the Group Three-winning Eloa.  This if the family of Alamosa, a Group One winning on four occasions and now standing at Wellfield Lodge in Palmerston North.
