New Group One Winner For Zabeel

25 Mar 2011

The Peter Moody-trained Lights of Heaven (Zabeel ex I’m in Heaven, by Volksraad) was much too good for her opposition in taking out today’s Group One Schweppes Australasian Oaks (2008m) at Morphettville.

It was the fourth-straight victory for Lights of Heaven who won the Sportingbet Fillies Classic-Gr.2 (1600m) at Moonee Valley at her last start.

The Group One Patinack Farm AJC Oaks (2400m) at Royal Randwick in the coming weeks looks a logical assignment for Lights of Heaven.

Bred and owned by Mrs J M Wanless, Lights of Heaven is from the Volksraad mare I’m in Heaven, herself a sister to the Group Three-winning Eloa.  This is the family of Alamosa, a Group One winner on four occasions and now standing at Wellfield Lodge in Palmerston North.
