New Stakes-Performer For Keeper

12 Mar 2011

Sworn To Secrecy (Keeper ex Heartache, by Casual Lies) became the latest black type performer for her sire when recording a brave run for second to Kudakulari in today’s Listed Canberra Guineas (1400m).

The John O’Shea-trained filly was trapped wide throughout the event, but fought strongly in what was only her second run in Australia.  The filly was formerly trained by Andrew Scott before being sold to the O’Shea stable.

Keeper is the sire of 18 stakes winners to date (12 Group winners) and has sired 177 winners worldwide from 276 runners.  In New Zealand this season alone he has had 35 individual winners including the Group One-winning Keep The Peace and the Group Three-winning Midnight Oil.

Yearlings by Keeper averaged more than $150,000 at the recent Karaka Premier Sale,
a figure ten times his 2010 service fee.  Two yearlings by Keeper made more than $300,000.
