New Stakes-Performer For One Cool Cat

27 Jun 2009

One Cool Cat gained his tenth individual stakes-performer when Jeanie Johnston (One Cool Cat ex Bahamamia, by Vettori) finished
second - beaten a neck - in the Listed Express Stakes (6f) at Newmarket in England on Saturday.

It was the two-year-old filly's third start, having run second at her debut last month and then improving to win at Haydock earlier this month.

Meanwhile at The Curragh in Ireland, another of One Cool Cat's progeny did well in a supporting race on Pretty Polly Stakes Day.  Hallie's Comet (One Cool Cat ex Secretariat's Tap, by Pleasant Tap) was beaten a short head in the European Breeders' Fund Fillies Handicap (7f).

Hallies' Comet is another of One Cool Cat's 10 stakes-performers to date.  Last season, at two years, the filly ran third in the Curragh Park Stakes-Gr.3, while earlier this month at three years she was second in the Saint-Cloud Prix des Lilas-LR.  Her connections thought enough of her to contest the Irish 1000 Guineas-Gr.1 and the filly did well to finish sixth.

Last week One Cool Cat was represented by maiden winners in both Ireland and Italy
