One Cool Cat Book Full

30 Jul 2008

Cambridge Stud announced today that the book for the highly successful European first-season sire One Cool Cat has been closed for his 2008 southern hemisphere breeding season in New Zealand.

Sir Patrick Hogan of Cambridge Stud said that the demand for One Cool Cat's services was very high from breeders in both Australia and New Zealand this year.

"I am delighted - if not altogether surprised - that One Cool Cat has proved so popular given his wonderful results achieved by his first crop in the Northern Hemipshere this year," Sir Patrick said.

"We know also how popular that his first Australasian yearlings proved with buyers at the sales this year," he said.

"The quality of his book at Cambridge Stud this year is going to be extremely high," Sir Patrick said.

One Cool Cat was the leading New Zealand-based first season sire at the Karaka Yearling Sales this year with his progeny selling for up to $925,000.

One Cool Cat, a dual Group 1 winning son of Storm Cat, is already the sire of 12 individual winners in the northern hemisphere - including four individual stakes winners. These stakes winners have been Knavesmire, Smokey Storm, Icesolator and Diglett.

One Cool Cat was a US$3.1 million yearling at the Keeneland sales.

Cambridge Stud's other stallions for 2008 are still available for bookings. These are Zabeel ($100,000 +gst), Keeper ($15,000 + gst), Viking Ruler ($10,000 + gst) and Lucky Unicorn ($8000 +gst).
