One Cool Cat To Be Rested

29 Jul 2009

The young Storm Cat stallion One Cool Cat will not be shuttling to Cambridge Stud for the 2009 breeding season.

"This has been a purely commercial decision," Sir Patrick Hogan, owner of Cambridge Stud told New Zealand Thoroughbred Marketing today.

"One Cool Cat is not presently in demand with breeders, so shuttling him this season is simply not viable," added Sir Patrick.

One Cool Cat is the sire of 6 individual black type winners and his oldest in the Southern Hemisphere are rising three-year-olds.  His first crop runners in this part of the world includes Winter King, a stakes-placed performer and the winner of his last three straight in Sydney.

"The option is open for Cambridge Stud to stand One Cool Cat in the future if it makes commercial sense," said Sir Patrick.

Cambridge Stud has confirmed that Stravinsky is currently in transit for his return shuttle this year, while the remainder of the stallion roster is made up of Zabeel, Keeper, Viking Ruler and Lucky Unicorn.
