One Cool Cat Tops Sires List

One Cool Cat has topped the sires list (by average 3 or more lots sold) at the annual South Island Sale of two-year-olds held in Christchurch on Friday.

One Cool Cat, whose first northern hemisphere crop have proved hugely successful this year, had three new season two-year-olds sold at the South Island Sale for an aggregate of $133,000 - representing an average price of $44,333.

The highest price paid for a One Cool Cat at the sale was $52,000 for a colt ex Sweetliner sold from the draft of Te Mania Thoroughbreds.

The purchaser of the colt was Mr F Gillespie, of Dargaville.

One Cool Cat's book for his 2008 southern hemisphere season at Cambridge Stud is already full.

In the Northern Hemisphere in 2008 One Cool Cat has bee the sire of 13 individual winners - including four individual stakes winners (Knavesmire, Icesolator, Knavesmire and Diglett.

His first southern hemisphere crop are two-year-olds of 2008/09.
