Pinker Pinker Does It For Zabeel

23 Oct 2011

Zabeel has sired more W S Cox Plates than any other stallion and on Saturday his influence was felt again in the famous race when Pinker Pinker, by Zabeel’s son Reset, won the 2011 running.

Reset (Zabeel ex Assertive Lass, by Zeditave) was unbeaten in five starts including Group One victories in the VRC Australian Guineas and MRC Futurity Stakes.  He was purchased by Darley for stud duties and now stands at their Victoria-based property near Seymour.

Efficient, Zabeel’s sole runner in the W S Cox Plate this year, did himself proud in running sixth.  He was less than four lengths from the winner and picked up a cool A$100,000 for his placing.  Efficient, a Victoria Derby and Melbourne Cup winner, has won A$4.6m in prize money to date.
