Sainted Pearl's connections are hoping the highly-regarded filly has got a short memory and she can show her best at Awapuni on Saturday.
A grand-daughter of the Group One winner Saint Cecile, the daughter of Power was expected to have gone close on debut at Otaki last month before an incident in the barrier.
Sainted Pearl became fractious and was a late scratching after another horse collapsed and died in the gates.
"I thought she was a huge chance at Otaki," trainer Nigel Auret said. "I hope it hasn't had any lasting effect on her."
Sainted Pearl will be ridden by Leah Hemi in Saturday's Mills Reef Winery 2YO Premier. - NZ Racing Desk
