Red Ruler Wins Group 3 Trentham Stakes

Red Ruler, overcame a wide barrier draw to win the $70,000 Group 3 Selaks Trentham Stakes at Wellington comfortably yesterday.

Trailing the leader Hurrah in the early stages of the 2100m race, Red Ruler never looked under pressure, and easily pulled away in the straight with a three quarter length victory.

His last start saw him win the Group 2 City of Auckland Cup taking his stakes to more than $1 million.

By Viking Ruler out of Ransom Bay (Red Ransom) the 5 year old gelding is nominated for the Group 2 Wellington Cup to be run at Trentham on 30 January.
