Super Sire Zabeel continued a remarkable run of siring brand new stakeswinners in the last month when Heat Haze (Zabeel ex Western Flame, by Zafonic) took out the Listed Martin Cup (2200m) at Awapuni, January 16.
Four of the progeny of Zabeel have claimed their first black type wins in the space of the last three weeks, namely Scouting Wide (Christmas Cup-LR), Zarzueal (Great Northern Guineas-Gr.2), Rainbow Styling (Tattersall's Cup-LR) and now Heat Haze (Marton Cup-LR).
Zabeel's individual tally of 125 individual black type winners is just five short of the lifetime 130 SW achieved by his own sire, Sir Tristram.
A truly outstanding lineup of 44 yearlings by Zabeel will be offered at the New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Premier Sale on the Ist and 2
nd of February.
No less than 22 of the youngsters will be put forward by Cambridge Stud.
