Able One lands Champions Mile-Gr.1 & Jessicabeel wins Sydney Cup-Gr.1

Able One, bred by Sir Patrick and Justine, Lady Hogan won his second International Group One race when taking out last night's HK$12m Champions Mile at the Sha Tin racecourse in Hong Kong.

It was his second win in the race, having first taken it out in 2007.

Able One is by Cape Cross, a Darley stallion who began his Southern Hemisphere stud career at Cambridge Stud .  His progeny now number 56 individual black type winners including the champion racemares Ouija Board and Seachange.

The dam of Able One is Gardenia, by Danehill. She has also left the Listed Race winner Florilegium.  This is the family of A Little Kiss who won a Flight Stakes and Queensland Oaks at Group One level.  It's also the family of the Victoria Derby winner Rebel Raider.

Able One was sold by Phoenix Park at the 2004 Karaka Select Sale for $190,000.  Reoffered at the Ready to Run Sale that same year, the horse fetched $270,000 to the bid of Bloodstock Consultant Paul Beamish.

Able One has now won 8 of his 30 starts.
