Second Oaks Success This Season For Keeper

5 Jun 2010

Cambridge Stud's resident Danehill stallion Keeper landed his second Group One Oaks success this season when Miss Keepsake (ex Jacilo, by Entrepreneur) took out the Queensland Oaks at Eagle Farm.

During the autumn fellow Keeper filly Keep the Peace took out the New Zealand Oaks for trainer Shaune Ritchie.

Miss Keepsake is trained by Andrew Scott at Matamata, having been bred by Kylie Fawcett and her partner, Eddie Wright.  The pair operate the Tirau-based stud Oxford Thoroughbreds.

Keeper is now the sire of five individual Group One winners, namely Miss Keepsake, Keep the Peace, Insouciant (2008 NZB 3YO Filly of the Year), Keepa Cruisin (Levin Classic) and Linky Dink (QTC T J Smith Classic).

Keeper has 15 black type winners in all and 157 individual winners worldwide from 246 runners.

Keeper is proving a very popular choice with breeders for the coming season at a fee of $15,000 + gst (lfg).
