And Sir Tristram, through his son Zabeel and daughters, appears in the pedigree of seven of the past eight Melbourne Cup winners bred in Australasia.

Lovers Knot's fourth dam is the famed New Zealand broodmare Wuthering Heights.

Apart from being the dam of champion galloper and Cox Plate winner Battle Heights, Wuthering Heights has created a dynasty of top-class winners includuing the likes of Sky Heights, Mapperley Heights, Noble Heights and current superstar Weekend Hustler, reports the
