9 May 2008

The highlight of day one of the New Zealand Bloodstock National Broodmare and Weanling Sale at Karaka on Sunday was the purchase of a weanling filly by Cambridge Stud shuttle sire Stravinsky at Lot 109, from the Group 1 performed Kaapstad mare, Full Noise, which was purchased for $130,000 by Marcus Corban Bloodstock.

Cambridge Stud General Manager, Marcus Corban, who secured the filly on behalf of a local client, commented: "We picked her out as a lovely walking Stravinsky filly that will be well suited to putting through the Karaka Yearling Sale next January.

Stravinsky is returning to Cambridge Stud in New Zealand this year after being prevented from being at the farm last year because of the EI outbreak. His service fee will be $40,000 plus gst.

Stravinsky is the sire of 46 individual stakes winners in his stud career to date.
