Stravinsky's 3YO Just Beaten in Group One Feature

5 Jul 2009

Oiseau de Feu, a Stravinsky 3YO who has won 6 of his 10 outings, was narrowly beaten into second in the Group One Prix Jean Prat (1600m) at Chantilly in France last weekend.

Oiseau de Feu became Stravinsky's 56th individual black type winner recently when winning the Group Three Chantilly Prix Paul de Moussac.  Before that he had been placed fourth in the French 2000 Guineas-Gr.1.

The American-bred son of Stravinsky won four races as a juvenile and has taken his form to a new level as a three-year-old.  This calendar year he has never been further back than fourth in five outings.

Stravinsky returns to Cambridge Stud for the 2009 season after a shuttle run absence of two years.
