Stravinsky's Latest Group Winner Has Impeccable Form

7 Jun 2009

The American-bred Oiseau De Feu became international black type winner number 56 for
Stravinsky
when scoring a Group Three victory in the Prix Paul de Moussac (1600m) at Chantilly in France over the weekend.

The three-year-old boasts fantastic form credentials.  The most recent victory was his sixth from just nine starts.  He won five races straight before a third placing in the Longchamp Prix de Fontainebleau-Gr.3 (1600m) during April.  From there he tackled the Longchamp Poule d'Essai des Poulains-Gr.1 (1600m) - which is the French 2000 Guineas.  Oiseau De Feu was fourth in the Group One event, which was his most recent run before last weekend's Group Three victory.

Stravinsky returns to Cambridge Stud for the 2009 season after a shuttle run absence of two years.  His progeny have been in wonderful form around the globe in recent weeks and his stock sold well at the Gold Coast last week.  A filly from Irongail made A$200,000 at the Magic Millions Weanling Sale, while Stravinsky's Group Two and dual Listed Race-winning racemare, Hips Don't Lie, fetched A$770,000 at the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale.
