Here’s another of the first-crop weanlings by Tavistock born and now being raised at Cambridge Stud.
This one’s from Keepable (by Keeper) and the photo (by Jenny Kain) was taken 30 March.
Born 28 October, the filly’s dam is a half-sister to Foxwood, winner of the NZ 1000 Guineas-Gr.1 and, in turn, the dam of two stakes-performers.
The third dam of this filly is Taiona. She was twice named New Zealand Broodmare of the Year.
Her 9 winners included Sovereign Red (Victoria Derby-Gr.1), Gurner’s Lane (Melbourne Cup-Gr.1) and Trichelle (VATC Marlboro Cup-Gr.1).
A more recent Group One winner to come out of this amazing family is Purple (by Commands), winner of both the Queensland Oaks and STC Storm Queen Stakes in 2009.
