Three Stravinsky Runners in Karaka Million

Stravinsky is well represented with three runners out of a field of 14 in the Karaka Million 2yo race to be held on Sunday 27th January at Ellerslie.


The race, open only to those yearlings purchased through the 2007 NZ Bloodstock Yearling Sales will be run over 1200m and will be the penultimate  race of the day at Ellerslie at 7.23pm.


Stravinsky is currently 5th on the NZ Sires 2yo Sires Premiership List with his best 2 yr old performer, Concerto (Rodrigo Rose) being one of those entered for the Karaka Million.


Concerto, sold through Cambridge Stud's draft last year fetched $70,000, purchased by Rogerson Bloodstock.  The chestnut colt, now trained by Richard Yuill and Stephen Goodin has had two starts for a first and fourth placing, after winning both his trials.  He has earned $13,850 for his owners.


Al Qurhah (Belleville), a bay colt, sold through the draft of Rodmor to PN & K McKay for $105,000 has had three starts for a first, second and third placings. His third came at his last start in the Listed Ford Welcome Stakes on 17 November 07.   Trained by Peter McKay, his stakes currently stand at $11,375.


The third entry sired by Stravinsky is the Mark Walker trained Nobel Manor (Sarwatch). The bay colt was purchased from Pencarrow Stud's draft by David Ellis for $380,000 and has had three starts for a first, third and fourth placing. 


Lot 138, Stravinsky-Gardenia and Al Qurhah are bred on the same cross both being out of  Danehill mares.
