Tief Latest Winner For Viking Ruler

Cambridge Stud reverse shuttle sire Viking Ruler was represented by his latest winner when Tief broke through for his first success at the Waipa Racing Club's meeting at Te Awamutu on Friday.


Viking Ruler has now had eight invidiual winners with Tief being his third individual winner in New Zealand.


Tief won the VE Veterinary Services 1600 over a distance of 1600m in the hands of Craig Grylls by half-a-length.


Viking Ruler, a Group 1 winning son of Danehill, began stud duties in New Zealand in 2003 and also shuttles to Ireland. His oldest progeny are three-year-olds of 2007/08.


Another Cambridge Stud sire represented by a winner at Te Awamutu was Keeper with four-year-old mare Keeper Coming posting her second win in the Singleton and Hansen 1600.
