Cambridge Stud will offer a Pentire half-brother to Pussy Willow at the Karaka Premier Sale next Tuesday and the colt is bound to receive extra interest after his half-sister’s huge win in the Group Two Wakefield Challenge Stakes (1200m) at Trentham Gardens yesterday.
Pussy Willow won her debut at Ruakaka at the start of the month and yesterday confirmed her promise by handling the big rise in class admirably.
Bred and raced by Peter Walker in the conjunction with Sir Patrick and Justine, Lady Hogan, Pussy Willow is a daughter of O’Reilly and the Octagonal mare Octapussy.
Stephen McKee prepares the youngster from his South Auckland base and the filly was ridden by Sam Spratt.
