Two Stakes' Winners In Two Days For One Cool Cat

29 May 2008

Just a day after achieving his first stakes winner in Europe,

One Cool Cat
is again proving his worth with a second black type winner in the Listed Betfair Betting As It Should Be National Stakes at Sandown yesterday (Thursday 29 May)

Following hard on the heels of the filly,
Knavesmire's win the day before, Richard Hannon-trained colt ,
Icesolator (Zinnia (Zilzal),  showed his class with his third win in a row over 5 furlongs (1000 metre).

Richard Hannon’s charge always raced prominently in the five-furlong event before jockey Richard Hughes took the lead a furlong out to beat the favourite Finjaan by a length and a half.

Icesolator, who was bred by Pier House Stud and sold for 65,000 euros as a yearling, picked up his penalty after victories in a maiden and conditions event at Goodwood earlier in the month.

"He is a lovely little horse and that is not his trip - he wants six furlongs," said Hannon. "I don't know where he will go now. I need to look at the conditions of the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot, but he might be good enough for the G2 Norfolk Stakes."

One Cool Cat has made a sensational start to take a runaway lead in the first season sires’ table with 10 individual winners in Europe to his name alread and is the leading 2yo sire with five months of the new season gone.
