12 Jun 2007

Hot on the heels of his second placing to
Viva Pataca (IRE) in the recent HK Champions and Chater Cup (2400m), it has been announced that the six time Gr.1 winner
Vengeance of Rain (NZ) (Zabeel x Danelagh by Danehill) will return to Cambridge Stud for a two-month spell.

On a rating of 129,
Vengeance of Rain (NZ) returns to New Zealand as the current equal top rater in Hong Kong, along with the aforementioned and the exciting Towkay (AUS) gelding
Armada (NZ).

The six-year-old son of Zabeel (NZ) (Sir Tristram) previously enjoyed a spell at Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan's idyllic property after winning his 2005 World title, with positive racing results coming shortly thereafter.

After this break, a rejuvenated
Vengeance of Rain (NZ) returned to the Hong Kong stable of David Ferraris, who trained the galloper to victory over
Viva Pataca (IRE) in the HK Gr.1 Hong Kong Gold Cup (2000m) on March 4.

Ferraris was quick to recognise the New Zealand efforts after this performance.

"
It was a tremendous win, one full of merit and I honestly think there is still some room for improvement in him. That break he had at Cambridge Stud was so important for him and I want to thank everybody there for their help," Ferraris told the Hong Kong Jockey Club after that race.

A historic Gr.1 win for both Hong Kong racing and the NZ Breeding industry was then attained at his next start, when the outstanding galloper defeated the best the world had to offer in the US$5 million Dubai Sheema Classic (2400m) in Dubai on March 31.
