Master trainer Bart Cummings is eyeing up a third consecutive Caulfield Guineas win this coming spring with promising two-year-old Kroner who was a runaway winner over 1100m at Randwick on Wednesday.

.

Kroner is a half-brother to the 2005 Group 1 AJC Derby winner Headturner. "He's bred to be a Derby winner but I don't believe that will be until next autumn," Cummings said.

Kroner had two starts earlier this year for a second on debut and then an unplaced run in the T L Baillieu Stakes after which he was given a spell.

He is a son of Cambridge Stud's Group 1 winning sire Viking Ruler who has made an extremely promising start to his stallion career with five individual winners.

He was bred by Cambridge's Whakanui Stud owner Tim Bodle who also bred Headturner.
