Oasis Rose, a two-year-old filly raced by Sir Patrick and Justine, Lady Hogan in partnership with Dr Gene Tsoi, won her debut outing at yesterday’s Cambridge Jockey Club meeting at Te Rapa.
Installed a warm favourite, Oasis Rose got home by a long head in a slick 58.35 seconds for the 1000 metres.
By the highly-successful Green Desert horse Oasis Dream (48 SW), the filly is from a French-bred half-sister to the multiple Group One winner Doctor Dino.
Oasis Rose was purchased at this year’s William Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling Sale by Marcus Corban Bloodstock for A$260,000. The filly was consigned by Scone’s Kia Ora Stud.
Oasis Rose is prepared by Don Sellwood from his Cambridge stable.
