Zabeel has had a major hand in two of the last three runnings of the Crown Oaks-Gr.1 at Flemington, being the damsire of both Faint Perfume (2009) and Samantha Miss (2008).
Tomorrow his talented daughter, Rahveel, will look to provide her sire with success in the A$1 million fillies feature.
Rahveel (Zabeel ex Sarah Vee, by End Sweep) was second in Saturday’s Wakeful Stakes-Gr.2 (2000m) and with the winner of that race, Atlantic Jewel, not taking her place in the Oaks; Rahveel looks a genuine winning hope.
It will be start number seven for Rahveel. She won her maiden at Bendigo during September and has since run 4th in the VRC Edward Manifold Stakes-Gr.2 (1600m), 5th in the MRC Thousand Guineas-Gr.1 (1600m) and 2nd, as mentioned earlier, in the Wakeful Stakes.
The in-form Damien Oliver rides Rahveel for Leon Corstens.
