Zabeel has retained his advantage in the battle for the Dewar Stallion Trophy award this season.
In one of the tightest battles for the prestige stallion award in recent years Zabeel's combined Australian and New Zealand progeny earnings in 2007/08 amount to NZ$7,826,163 (as of today) while arch rival O'Reilly has combined Australasian progeny earnings of NZ$7,511,724.
Zabeel , the sire of 38 individual Group 1 winners, has won the Dewar Award already on 12 consecutive occasions and is chasing title no 13 this season. He has won a total of 17 stallion awards during a sterling stud career which has entirely been based at Cambridge Stud,
Zabeel's major earner in Australia this season has been the 2007 Melbourne Cup winner, Efficient, who has picked up stakes this season of A$3,113,500.
O'Reilly's major earner in Australia has been Master O'Reilly who won stakes of A$1,844,950.
