Zabeel Underway in Season 19

He might have begun his 18th year of stud duties and recently turned 23 years of age, but super sire Zabeel is proving he's still very much an active stallion force with three of his early coverings returning positive pregnancy tests.

"It's a great result," enthused Sir Patrick Hogan.

Zabeel recently paraded at Cambridge Stud as part of the Waikato Breeders' annual stallion tour and left the impression that there's plenty of life left in the champion stallion.

According to figures supplied by Arion Pedigrees, the progeny of Zabeel has won A$95m in stake earnings in Australia alone.  His individual black type winner tally is a remarkable 121; 38 of which are Group One winners.

Zabeel has a limited book of 80 mares for 2009 at a fee of $90,000 + gst.
