Savabeel’s best son, Embellish, has been retired in a joint decision made by Cambridge Stud and Te Akau Racing. Cambridge CEO Henry Plumptre said today that the horse would arrive at Cambridge in early February to be available for inspection.
“ Naturally, we are disappointed that he could not race on this year as we believe that his four-year-old year could have been his best. He is however a 2000 Guineas winner who was highly competitive against his peers at his best, by the best stallion in New Zealand and with a beautiful pedigree.
The fact that Te Akau paid $775,000 for him as a yearling underlines his conformation and we are looking forward to showing him to breeders next year. We would like to thank Jamie Richards and his team for their part in the horse’s success and for their efforts this year to get Embellish back to the races.
