$100,000 Karaka Weanling for Cape Blanco

13 May 2014

Cambridge Stud's big name shuttle horse Cape Blanco provided the second-leading seller at this week's New Zealand Bloodstock National Weanling Sale.

The colt ex Tip The Wink (by Stravinsky) was sold by Nearco Stud from the consignment of Curraghmore Stud for $100,000 with the buyer being bloodstock agent Bruce Perry.

Meanwhile Cape Blanco's sire, Galileo, leads both the 2014 Great Britain Stallion Premiership and the 2014 Ireland Stallion Premiership, titles he won in 2013.

Right now Galileo sits at 160 individual stakes winners, a tally which includes 38 individual Group One winners.

The service fee for Cape Blanco and his associate sires at Cambridge Stud - Burgundy, Keeper, Power and Tavistock - will be announced in the near future.
