Abidewithme (Redoute’s Choice ex Crimson) became the 101st individual black type winner from a Zabeel mare when winning yesterday’s Ray Coupland Stakes-LR (1400m) at Ashburton.

The 3YO filly is raced by her breeders Sir Patrick and Justine, Lady Hogan from the stable of Jason Bridgman.

Abidewithme won her maiden on debut towards the end of last month and made the step up to stakes race company yesterday in good style, winning by nearly a length in a time of 1.22.23.

Abidewithme becomes the second black type winner from her dam Crimson, the other being Miss Scarlatti (Stravinsky) who won the Listed VRC Super Impose Stakes and was placed second in the VRC Oaks-Gr.1.

Crimson won at Gr.2 & Gr.3 level herself and is a half-sister to the 1987 Victoria Derby winner Omnicorp (Grosvenor).
