3 new Group One winners for Galileo

Cape Blanco’s sire Galileo has made a lightning start to the serious part of the Northern Hemisphere Season siring three new Group One winners.

Ruler of the World (Galileo ex Love Me True, by Kingmambo) took out The Derby-Gr.1 (12f) at the weekend, taking his record to 3 starts for 3 wins.  He went into the English Derby with a 6 length victory in the Chester Vase-Gr.3 (12.5f).

A week earlier Magician (Galileo ex Absolutelyfabulous, by Mozart) tasted success in the Irish Two Thousand Guineas-Gr.1 (8.75f) and is now unbeaten in two starts at three.

Just three days ago Intello (Galileo ex Impressionnante, by Danehill) won the Chantilly Prix du Jockey Club-Gr.1 (2100m), sometimes known as the French Derby.  The colt now has a record of 5 starts for 4 wins.

An indicator of just how dominant Galileo is in the Northern Hemisphere at present can be gauged by the fact that he currently leads the respective Great Britain, Irish and French Stallion premierships.

Cape Blanco (Galileo ex Laurel Delight, by Presidium), a five time Gr.1 winner himself, returns to Cambridge Stud on the shuttle run later this year.  He covered 135 mares in his initial Southern Hemisphere season during 2012.
