When It’s a Dundeel (High Chaparral ex Stareel, by Zabeel) returned to his brilliant best in yesterday’s A$500,000 Ranwick Guineas-Gr.1 (1600m), it represented the ninth Group One victory, this season alone, for elite performers from Zabeel mares.
Seven of those victories have come in Australia and the other two in New Zealand and, not surprisingly, Zabeel leads the respective Broodmare Sire Premierships in both countries.
