All smiles as Funny Girl races clear1 Sep 2021

Funny Girl put smiles on our faces this afternoon when she showed an abundance of pace to post an all the way victory on the synthetic track at Cambridge.

She was placed in both of her two-year-old outings last season before she was spelled by trainer Lance Noble and, with the benefit of as trial win last month, she was in fine fettle to resume.

Funny Girl broke quickly from the barrier today for rider Samantha Collett and traveled well to the turn. When she was asked for a serious effort in the straight, she drew out and sailed home by 1.3 lengths.

A daughter of Showcasing, we bought her at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale at Karaka where she was offered by Lilywhites Lodge.

She is from a strong Haunui Farm family and is out of the four-time winner Triaction, who is a three-quarter sister to the G1 New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes winner Perfect Fit.
